SIAM International Conference on Data Mining (SDM 2015), 30 April – 2 May 2015, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Data mining is the computational process for discovering valuable knowledge from data. It has enormous application in numerous fields, including science, engineering, healthcare, business, and medicine. Typical datasets in these fields are large, complex, and often noisy. Extracting knowledge from these datasets requires the use of sophisticated, high-performance, and principled analysis techniques and algorithms, which are based on sound theoretical and statistical foundations. These techniques in turn require implementations on high performance computational infrastructure that are carefully tuned for performance. Powerful visualization technologies along with effective user interfaces are also essential to make data mining tools appealing to researchers, analysts, and application developers from different disciplines.

International Workshop on Fraud Detection in Mobile Advertising(FDMA 2012), 4 November 2012, SingaporeOnline advertising flourishes as the ideal choice for both small and large businesses to target their marketing campaigns to the appropriate customers on the fly. An advertiser provides an advertising commissioner with its advertisements, plans a budget, and sets a commission for each customer action. The content publishers, on the other hand, make a contract with the commissioner to display advertisements on their websites. However, since publishers earn revenue based on impressions and clicks they drive to advertisers, there is an incentive for dishonest publishers to inflate the number of impressions/clicks their sites generate—a phenomenon known as click fraud.
