Prof. Arbee L.P. Chen received a Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from the University of Southern California, and is currently Vice President, Dean of the College of Information and Electrical Engineering and Chair Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at Asia University, Taiwan. He also holds a joint faculty position at National Tsing Hua University and Academia Sinica. Dr. Chen was a University Chair Professor of Computer Science and Dean of the College of Science at National Chengchi University, Professor of the Department of Computer Science, National Tsing Hua University, Member of Technical Staff at Bell Communications Research, New Jersey, and Research Scientist at System Development Corporation, California. Dr. Chen organized IEEE Data Engineering Conference and International Conference on Database Systems for Advanced Applications in Taiwan, and continuously served in various capacities for international conferences and journals.
